Have you heard that new country song about 5 more minutes. What would you do of you had 5 more minutes with those you loved? 5 more minutes snuggling with your babies or lover?
What I wouldn't give to have 5 more minutes with those I have lost.
For my readers who don't know I am a recovering heroin addict and people ask me all the time what made me quit. The week I quit I had 5 friends die from overdoses and other causes, some using the same heroin I was using. It was enough to rock my world and help me straighten up.
What do I wish I could say to them? If I had five more minutes would they have shot up?
What about Momma rhonda, what would I say if I had five more minutes with her.
My challenge for you today is to text, call, write card etc. to 3 people and take 5 extra minutes for them.
Tracy was one of the best friends you could ask for especially through some really shitty times in my life. After he passes away I was lucky enough to have his mom, dad and little brother come alongside me and help me with recovery and for that I am truly grateful.
