What is your Love language? Mine is very strongly words of affirmation. I need this to thrive and continue pressing on. I used to look to this from my parents, teachers, friends , family, co workers etc. I pretty much looked for this from anyone I came in contact with and I wanted to hear them tell me, “good job!”
I have been doing a bible study on 2 Timothy and a couple months ago I was studying verse 4 and was overwhelmed with emotion when I read 4: 8, “There is reserved for me in the future the crown of righteousness, which the Lord , the righteous judge, will give me on that day.”
God is calling me To press on. To serve. To give. To sacrifice. My heart longs to hear, "Well done, my good and faithful daughter." I don’t have to look for this from others around me, I need to be living for an audience of one. Period!! I want to finish the race well and receive the crown of righteousness.
I hope no matter what you are facing today that you will stop looking to others to love you, affirm you, provide for you what only one person is capable of doing it is not fair to our friends, spouses, family, coworkers etc. to expect them to fulfill us, it is not possible.
